Job placement

It is very important to us that our students receive support and help not just before and during the preparatory course, but during the entire programme including the job placement phase. The vast distance and time difference make it difficult for us to offer the same amount of support for placements in NZ as we do for our students in other destination countries. For this reason, we have chosen to work with a partner organization in Auckland whose team will be happy to offer support during your job placement. This partner organization is also responsible for placing you in the job according to your specifications and qualifications.
You may choose one of the following two options:

Option A: Job placement before or during your preparatory course in Heppenheim, Germany. Choosing this option will mean that you will conduct telephone or skype interviews with potential employers before your arrival in New Zealand. This might mean that the job placement process will take a little bit longer, because most NZ employers do prefer to meet an applicant in person before giving a job offer.
Option B: Choosing this option means that the job placement process will begin after your arrival in New Zealand. Our partner organization will make 1 – 3 appointments for job interviews for you. Experience has shown that with this option, the placement process will be quick and uncomplicated.

Arrival and orientation

For your arrival in Auckland, you may optionally book an airport transfer. This will cost an extra €65.00, but is highly recommended because the flight is very long and can be quite exhausting. It’s nice to be able to relax after the flight and not have to worry about how to get into the city. Alternatively you can of course take a taxi to get to your hostel. Our partner organization will give you helpful advice on reasonably-priced places to stay in the vicinity of their office for a couple of days so that you can cure your jetlag and prepare for job interviews.
One day after your arrival, you may take part in an orientation seminar, during which you will be given important information about living and working in New Zealand. A representative of our partner organization will tell you how to open a bank account and how to apply for your tax and social insurance number. Also this is a great opportunity to get to know the team that will be helping and supporting you throughout your stay. Additionally, you will do an Auckland City Tour, get a SIM card for your mobile phone and discount vouchers on travel arrangements and car rentals. Our partner organization also organizes extra-curricular activities which you can join once you have started your new job.

Towns and Regions

Many of the job placements are in Auckland. However our partner organization also works with hotels in other, smaller or larger cities and towns, or country house hotels, ski resort hotels or beach hotels. You may give a preference for a specific region, but we can’t guarantee a placement in any specific city or town.
