Food & Beverage
Restaurant Attendant, F&B Assistant, C&B Assistant, Bar Person, Commis Waiter, Runner
These positions are the entry-level jobs in the F&B departments. You could work as waiting staff in a restaurant, public house or hotel bar, or in the buffet service. Duties include laying and clearing tables, polishing glasses and cutlery, serving food and beverages and cleaning up once the restaurant or bar has closed. A C&B (Conference & Banqueting) Assistant serves meals and drinks from a set menu during conference breaks, wedding banquets, Christmas parties and other special events.
Chef de Rang, Demi-Chef de Rang, Chef de Bar, (Commis) Sommelier
These positions involve more responsibility than the entry-level positions and require a certain level of experience in the trade. Duties include the same as the above-mentioned but additionally taking food and drink orders, liaising with the kitchen staff, giving menu recommendations and serving wines, some of which can be quite valuable, in higher-class establishments.
Front of House
Receptionist, Front Desk Agent, Concierge, Guest Relations Officer, Porter
Receptionists’ and Front Desk Agents’ duties include handling check-ins and check-outs, making reservations, taking room service orders, operating the telephone switchboard and many other tasks. The Concierge and Guest Relations Officer is responsible for special guest service and handling complaints and queries in a polite and efficient manner. Porters greet guests on their arrival to the hotel, open doors, park cars and carry suitcases. Front of House jobs usually require experience in a similar role, excellent people skills, and an impeccably groomed appearance.
Kitchen
Kitchen Assistant, Cook, Commis Chef, Chef de Partie
Duties in the kitchen include preparing and cooking meals. Kitchen Assistants’ and Commis Chefs’ tasks usually include preparation work for the Chefs de Partie. The Chef de Partie usually works in one or two stations of the kitchen, for example the entremetier, gardemanger, saucier or patisserie stations.
Housekeeping
Room Attendant, Chambermaid, Linen Porter
The hotels we work with offer diverse kinds of accommodation for their guests, from simple rooms with en-suite bathrooms or 1-3 room apartments with kitchen and bathroom through to high-class luxury suites. The rooms must be kept clean prior to the arrival of the guests, after they have left as well as during their stay. Duties here include making the beds, cleaning the kitchen & bathroom and vacuum cleaning, among other things. Linen Porters are responsible for maintenance, furniture lifting and transportation of the laundry to the laundry room, among many other tasks.
Misc. other areas
Spa Attendant, Pool Attendant, Childcare, other
Our partner hotels do occasionally have out-of-the-ordinary vacancies in various departments. As these positions are very rare, we cannot give placement guarantees for any of these, but we will try our best to accommodate special requests and find a job in these fields.
